“Dangerous” Dorin Spivey won a hard fought unanimous decision over Leo Martinez in the August 28 “War At The Shore” main event at the Virginia Beach Convention Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Both fighters went toe-to-toe for ten rounds. Martinez (15-14, 7 KOs) was very busy and pressured Spivey (38-6, 29 KOs) throughout the bout with a straight forward, in-your-face attack. Spivey, however, scored two standing eight counts in the first round and landed the more effective blows throughout to win the contest. The judges score cards read 95-92, 98-90 and 95-94.
In the featured supporting bouts of the show promoted by Nick Garone of X-Cel Worldwide and Daryl DeCroix of Daryl DeCroix Promotions, junior lightweight Meacher Major “Pain” (18-4-1, 14 KOs) defeated Jamar Saunders (5-7-1, 2 KOs) by TKO when the bout was waved off before the start of the fourth round due to a sever cut over Saunders’ right eye and MMA star Antwain “The Juggernaut” Britt won his professional boxing debut knocking out Antonio King (0-1, 0 KOs) forty-nine seconds into round one. |
